Collection created for nobody collective

handle with care | 04 x Helen Bullock

As part of a special collaboration for ‘handle with care’ (hwc), nobody collective worked with artist and illustrator Helen Bullock while granted the opportunity of an residency at Xenia, UK. Utilizing existing designs developed from hwc collections and remade in canvas, these garments were painted on in a creative conversation with the artist. A creative back and forth between the two, a response to each other’s mark making. The process was documented through a short film presented alongside the collection with editing and sound design by Abby Holden.

hwc | 04 continues with the mark-making developed in collaboration with Bullock; embroidery, “stickers” and screen printing paint marks are applied to transparencies and cotton typewriter cloth. Weighted silk with drawstring bias cutting and 1920s references support the painted workwear and sports driven pieces. With porcelain buttons made exclusively for the collection by n e a d pot and reformed spats reconstructed from Keds.
