DEAN SIDAWAY 2010/11

Previously Dean Sidaway raised shoulders to a higher plain and for Autumn/Winter 2010, the strength and power of the shoulder metamorphoses into the vulnerability, elegance and femininity of the neck. Supporting, constricting, caressing pieces wrap and surround the neck and chest to protect and preserve this most fragile feature of the anatomy, often flirtatiously revealing skin or sadistically binding the wearer.

The frozen plains of Scandinavia, with their barren branches and icy expanses inspire Dean Sidaway for Autumn/Winter 2010. Vintage lace rags and chainmail interweave evoking the warrior in icicled palaces where Jesmonite coating, chain, ruffled organdy, organic yarns, and found antiquities are part of the textural landscape in Dean's collection where the unexpected instil each piece with emotion, character and legacy.

Central Saint Martins MA graduate Dean Sidaway's breakthrough debut collection last season grabbed the industry's attention. As well as a designer, Dean Sidaway is a fashion stylist, design consultant and teaches at Central Saint Martins across a breadth of disciplines, putting experience gained from working at Calvin Klein, Clements Ribeiro and with internationally renowned fashion publications.

Dean Sidaway's truly individual take on fashion ensures that he will remain one to watch this season. Let him take you on this nomadic journey to the frozen north, where beauty is uncompromised. This season Dean Sidaway weaves the next chapter in his story.
